DUXBURY ROTARY CLUB
BRIDGE January 24, 2018 for the meeting of Feb. 14
 
President Fred reviewed some communications.
Rotary informed the club that Sheila Bremer, a resident of Duxbury, is interested in joining our club.
Jim Middleton of Habitat will be looking for help for construction in April or May.
Steve is in touch with Joe Grady in ways we can help with conservation in Duxbury, such as clearing brush on land west of Route 53.
Placemats have raised $3,100.00 according to Cheryl.  She has taken the copy to We Print Today and will have two different mats printed, with 3,000 printed of each mat.
Karl assembled an “impressive financial report” (secret) and was well thanked by club members.
A group will attend the Jan. 27 Senior Center Black Tie Bingo fundraiser.  Fred will call the game.
 
SCHEDULE: Feb. 6, at the Chestnut Grill, the Lyons Club will be presenting checks to the two Habitat groups, from funds that they raised at the Beer Festival last summer.  Our club is invited to attend.
 
Feb. 7, next meeting.
 
Saturday, Feb 10 the District will hold a PETS training session at White’s Restaurant.  Fred is planning to attend.
 
March 24, 6:30 PM, Trivia Night at the Legion Hall has been confirmed.  The game begins at 7:00 PM.  Bob J. has the questions and will get medallions.  The 50/50 raffle will be repeated.  The various groups will again speak about their interests.  We plan on ten to twelve tables that can each accommodate ten people.  Peter will do the food.  Bruce S. will have a poster.
 
There will be a District Exchange Student Reunion on April 23.  Is Jack interested as he hosted an exchange student?
 
FINES/RAFFLE: Bill Babcock acted as the Sgt.-at-Arms.  Fred’s two grandchildren celebrated birthdays.  Bruce R. has two new clients and will soon have a new knee.  Fred and his wife will be speaking to a group at Miramar.  Bruce R. won $7.00 in the raffle.
