DUXBURY ROTARY CLUB

The club welcomed new member William Babcock.   He was sponsored by President Fred and inducted by Bob H.  Bill and his wife previously lived in Duxbury from 2000 – 2004 when they moved to New Jersey.  He was employed by a medical devices company, which made dental drills.  Later he was a coach to CEOs.  In May of 2017 they moved back to Duxbury.

George is almost ready to return for a meeting.  Jack is in the hospital and Fred has not heard anything about Abdul.

Now is the time to mail a check made out to Duxbury Rotary, P.O. Box 272, Duxbury MA 02331 for “$46.50” (secret amount) to attend the Rotary dinner, which will feature Razia speaking about her girl’s school in Afghanistan.  It will be held in Swansea MA at the Venus DeMilo Restaurant.  The club has reserved a table for ten.

Fred reported on the Board Meeting held Oct. 11.
Karl has completed the club’s tax form.
To make selling placemat ads easier Bob J. took a picture of a senior holding one of our placemats.  Fred included the picture and a form letter of request in a previous email.
Razia would like help to run an information presentation about her school on Saturday, Nov. 18 held at the Senior Center from 4 – 6 PM.  There will be custodial costs.  Bruce R. will be writing an article for the Clipper.
Paul Harris Foundation participants should contribute their $200.00 yearly amount of their five-year commitment.

Steve is looking forward to having Joe Grady speak about conservation as a Fun Event.

Hurricane Relief to Puerto Rico is looking very difficult to provide because of lack of electricity and transportation.  Tom reports that cargo is all backed up at the ports.

Steve has heard of a group of military veterans called Team Rubicon who provides help areas in the world that have experience disasters.  To help this established outfit, there is the idea for the Senior Center, Rotary, the Legion and the Lyons sponsoring a Black Tie event to raise money for Team Rubicon.
